Obituary of Hendrik Willem Pateman
Pateman: Hendrik Willem 'Hank' -
It is with great sadness that the family of Hendrik Pateman announce his peaceful passing on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at the age of 84. Born in The Hague, The Netherlands, Hank was the son of the late Hendrik and Geerdina (Addens) Pateman. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 62 years, Marry (nee Schinkelshoek) and his four children: Jerry (Laurie), Diana (John Wolfe), Marty and Henry (Kim). Proud Opa of Sarah Mueller, Jordan Pateman, Cody , Cale, Carly Wolfe, Tyler Pateman and Nicole Pateman. Also survived by two great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Hendrik 'Henry" Mueller and two soon-to-be-born great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his brother Aart, his sister Fenny and his guiding light Bep Addens. Also missed by his brothers-in-law and sister-in-law and their families.
Hank retired from Navistar in 1993 and enjoyed 24 years of retirement. Hanks favorite past-times included camping at the Pinery Park and volunteering his time as a convenor with Chatham Minor Hockey's Midget House League. Hank eventually went on to become president of CMHA and then becoming a Life Member of which he was very proud of.
The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Tomen and CCAC for their compassion over the last 4 years.
As per Hank's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service was held.
Donations made in memory of Hank to the Parkinson Society would be appreciated.
