Obituary of Frances Mary Helen Stewart
STEWART: Frances Mary Helen 'Fran' (nee Graham) -
Formerly of R.R. # 2 Blenheim, Fran Stewart passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at the age of 93.
Born in Chatham on August 6, 1924, Fran was the daughter of the late Joseph and Sarah Alice (Griffith) Graham.
Beloved wife of almost 65 years to the late Wallace 'Wally' Stewart (April, 2017).
Mother to Eric ‘Rick’ Stewart (Joanne (nee Kominek)) of Sudbury, Leora ‘Lee’ Flaxman (Ken) of Ajax and Marcia Stewart (Darryl Alsbrook) of Youbou, BC. Predeceased by her son Craig (1979).
Grandmother of Kirsty Flaxman of Ajax.
Sister to the late Catherine McIntosh (late Rev. Alvin). Aunt to Ellen, Martha, Beth and Joanne.
Sister-in-law to Lyn Jenner (late Don) and the late Art Stewart.
Aunt to Janet Warriner (Ivan), Barb MacDonald (late Brian), Jim Jenner (Janice), Donna Lyn Jenner (Doug Desmond) and the late Joe Jenner.
Dear friend to Kathleen Moderwell and Lois Lamb.
Fran graduated from Blenheim District High School and Westerveld Business College. She worked for 9 years at the Ontario Hospital Business Office in London.
Fran was the secretary treasurer of the former Guilds United Church for 32 years, and had been member of the Guilds Circuit (Pastoral Charge) and its UCW and served Kent Presbytery. She had acted as the treasurer of Kenesserie Camp for 13 years, and was a member of the Guilds United Church and the New Scotland United Church. Fran was a member of the Square Dance Club, and enjoyed playing Pepper and Shuffleboard with friends. Fran had been active with the Blenheim Figureskating Club for many years.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 1:00 -3:00 pm. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment was held at Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim.
