Obituary of Ronald "Ron" Marvin Sparks

Ronald M. Sparks

Ron passed away peacefully with his family at his home on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at the age of 70. 

Ron was born in Chatham and was the son of the late Harry and Vida (Knott) of Charing Cross.

Beloved husband of 47 years to Sue (Butler) of Chatham.

Dear father of Launa Sparks-Hunter and husband Chris of Chatham and Ron Jr. of Toronto.

Sadly missed by grandchildren Elyse and Jakob Hunter.

Loving brother of Janet Forsyth of Blenheim and Harold Sparks of Charing Cross, and brother-in-law of Bob Forsyth and Jean Crackel of Blenheim.

Predeceased by brother Jack.

Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, the Butler family and friends.

A member of Maple City Baptist Church, Ron was a passionate follower of Christ with a heart for the lost and full of gratitude for his Saviour. We rejoice to know that he is in the presence of God forevermore, free from sickness and suffering. Rejoice!

Ron was also a birdwatcher and a pilot with a great sense of humour. An avid car enthusiast, “Sparky” worked in the export office of Ford Motor Co. in Windsor for 35 years until retiring in 2000.

The family will receive friends at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham, ON, on Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9pm.

The Funeral Service will take place at Maple City Baptist Church, 500 Indian Creek Rd. W., Chatham, ON, on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 11am, visitation one hour prior to service time, with Pastor Rick Dressler officiating.

Interment will be in Pardoville Union Cemetery.
