SCHENK: Tena

A devoted wife, mother and grandmother went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Wednesday, December 27, 2017.

Born in The Netherlands April 8, 1932.

Predeceased by her parents Wiebe and Lamke Smids, husband Harry Schenk (2006), brother John Smids, brothers and sisters-in-law, Kees Vandersluis, Grace and Harry DeJonge, Dorothy and Stan Antonides, John Schenk and Bill Schenk.

Survived by her four children, Lenny (Herb) Hystek, Pete (Michele) Schenk, Liz (Kevin) Prosser and Mike (April) Schenk.

Eleven grandchildren, Brent (Lynn), Eric (Val) and Nathan (Heidi) Hystek; Amanda (Troy) Belcoure, Megan, Katelin and Brooke Paxton; Dean Prosser; Griffin Schenk, Riley and Reese Dolson.

Sisters Sally Vandersluis, Jane (Nick) Buma and brother Fred (Milly) Smids. Brothers and sisters-in-law Gertie Smids, Alice and Andy Vanderveen, Ruth Schenk, Willy (Albert) Martens, Kees and Lena Schenk.

Also survived by 7 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Thank-you to the staff at Riverview Gardens and Chatham Retirement Resort for their love and care.

Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 6:00 - 9:00 pm.

Funeral Service will be held at Grace Christian Reformed Church, 255 Tweedsmuir Ave West, Chatham at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 30, 2017 with Rev. Fred Heslinga officiating. Private family interment will be held at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.
