Obituary of Robert Vanderiviere
VANDERIVIERE: Robert Jules 'Bob'-
August 16, 1930 - January 11, 2018
Formerly of St. Andrew's Residence, Robert Vanderviere passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus with his family at his side at the age of 87.
Born in Dover Township, Robert was the son of the late Remi and Germaine (Vanderjeugt) Vanderiviere.
Beloved husband of to the late Clara (nee Blondeel) (2008).
Father of Terry Vanderiviere (Janet) and Paul Vanderiviere (Carol), all of Chatham.
Proud Grandpa of Eric (Krissy), Eren (Charlie), Sarah (Will), Kelly, Colin, Martin, Adam and Sean (Amber).
Predeceased by his grandson Scott (2000).
Great-Papa of Jenna, Taylor, Cole, Casy, Mikyla and Liam.
Brother to Jerome Vanderiviere (Jean). Predeceased by his sister Jeannette Moerman, and brother John Vanderiviere. Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Robert retired as a Truck Driver for National Grocers after many years of service. He was the Past President of the Kent Belgium Dutch Canadian Club. He enjoyed camping and fishing.
Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Monday, January 15, 2018 from 3:00 - 5:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Ursula's Catholic Church, 205 Tweedsmuir Avenue West, Chatham at 10:00 am on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. Cremation to follow with a private family interment to be held at a later date.
Donations made in memory of Robert to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation would be appreciated.
