SPENCER: Ruth (nee Birkenshaw) -
A resident of Howard Township, Ruth Spencer passed away in the home in which she was born, with her family at her side on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at the age of 90.
Born in Howard Township, Ruth was the daughter of George and Beula Birkenshaw.
Beloved wife of the late Doug Spencer (1970).
Loving mother of Maria Sheets (Brian) of Howard Township.
Proud Grandma of Mitch and Brady Sheets.
Sister-in-law of Roberta Spencer (late Howard).
Dear aunt to Bob Spencer (B.J.) and Rick Spencer (Lori).
Great aunt to Deni Spencer (Lori), Julianne Saunders (Matt), Victoria Barreria (Padro), David Roes (Antanija) and Courtney Spencer .
Special friend to Jenny Mamo.
Ruth enjoyed watching her grandsons play hockey and baseball and was their Number 1 Fan. She was a member of Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church, Ridgetown and the former McKay's Corners Women's Institute. Ruth was a licensed piano teacher with the Royal Conservatory of Music for over 50 years.
Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Saturday, February 10, 2018, from 10:00am until the Funeral Service at 11:00am with Rev. Don Hill officiating. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Ridgetown.
Donations made in memory of Ruth to the Pet and Wildlife Rescue or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
