Obituary of Ross Lalonde Taplin

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ross Lalonde Taplin February 27^th, 2018 at Four Counties Hospital, Newbury Ontario, just 10 days shy of his 89^th birthday.  Ross was predeceased by his parents, William and Lilly (nee Lalonde) Taplin. Ross was a long time resident of his beloved Muirkirk  and  is survived by his wife of 65 years, Vera (nee Ross) Taplin, daughter Debbie McFarland and husband Bruce of Muirkirk, granddaughter Heather McFarland of Chatham, and grandson Jeffery McFarland and wife Alicia of St. Paul, Alberta. He is also survived by in-laws,Jean James of Barrie, Mabel Enwright of London, Don and Sharron Ross of Tilllsonburg and  Don and Marg Bergeron of Windsor, as well as several  nieces and nephews.

Ross was a long time Masonic Lodge and Mocha Temple member as well as a member of the Emmanuel Congregational Church of Ridgetown. Ross was in business for many years in the Muirkirk area most notably as a Farm Fuel Agent for various companies. Ross enjoyed travelling extensively with family and friends over the years.  One of his favourite daily activities was visiting, reminiscing and hearing about local news from his friends at the coffee club in Highgate.

Family and friends whose lives Ross has touched are invited to the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown from  2-4pm and 7-9pm Sunday March 4^th to reminisce, grieve,  support each other and of course just visit. A Masonic Service will be held at 6:45pm. The Funeral Service will be held at Emmanuel Congregational Church, Ridgetown at 11am Monday March 5^th.
