Andrew Vander Weide peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family after a year long battle with cancer, on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance - Chatham Campus in his 65th year.
Loving best friend & husband of Deborah Stacey for 20 years.
Devoted father of Michele Bellamy (Paul), Marie Murray (Ian), Shawn Vander Weide (Nicole), Lisa Vander Weide (Mike) & Andrea Tran (Joe). Step-father of Randy Zamaria (Amanda) & William Zamaria (Janna).
Grandfather of Chris, Eric, Ainsley, Owen, Avery, Levi, Madelyn, Brett, Abygail, Isabella, Brady & Blake.
Brother of Al, Dini & Fran.
Andy retired as a mechanic of Al's Garage where he worked alongside his brother Al for over 30 years. He was a very well known & well loved member of the community.
A Celebration of Andy's life will take place on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at the McKinlay Reception Centre. 463 St. Clair Street, Chatham from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Tribute & Memories will be shared at 4:00 pm. Cremation has taken place.
Donations in memory of Andrew may be made to the VON, who took great care of him during his fight with cancer.
