Deanna Campbell

Obituary of Deanna Lynn Campbell

In the comforting arms of her soul mate Michael and surrounded by more love than she could ever imagine, Deanna Lynn Campbell (nee Zehr) slipped peacefully from this world on April 6, 2018.  Born September 24, 1971, Deanna will be forever remembered as a little spitfire who, although small in stature, always overflowed with love, fought any battle to the end, and lived life to the fullest.

A loving wife to Michael Campbell, Deanna leaves her three most precious jewels Malcolm, Ian, and Owen to carry on her legacy.  Although her time with her boys was cut short, Deanna was able to instill her sense of values and compassion that prepares them well for their futures.

Deanna is survived by her loving parents Dayle and Donna (nee Price) Zehr, sister Dana and husband James Irvine of Sudbury, and brother Jason and wife Trisha (Wright) Zehr of Thamesville.  Adored by a special grandmother Mabel Price (nee Hyde) who, in her 96th year, made the trip twice to visit Deanna in her final weeks.

Special daughter-in-law to Donald and the late Janet Campbell.  Sister-in-law to Lisa and Stephen Dunstall of Ancaster, and Colin and Jen (Faas) Campbell of Kent Bridge.

Deanna loved children and that is no more apparent than with her many nieces and nephews who looked forward to any moment they got to spend with “Aunt DeeDee”.  Deanna leaves memories of fun and love to Johnathon, Jana and Jaden Irvine, Brodie and Griffin Zehr, Campbell, Zachary and Abigail Dunstall, and Aiden and Bennett Campbell.

Deanna leaves a large, extended family of Aunts and Uncles, cousins and friends that are too numerous to mention but held a special place in her heart and were never far from her thoughts.

A graduate of the University of Guelph in 1994, Deanna immediately dove into her beloved field of social work – first in the Waterloo region and then at Chatham-Kent Children’s Services.  As an advocate for children, Deanna dedicated 20 years to making a lasting contribution towards strengthening children and families in Chatham-Kent.

The family of Deanna would like to thank Dr. McGregor, her naturopath, as well as Dr. Burgess and all the nurses at CK Hospice.  We could tell in your eyes and your actions that Deanna had touched you as well in the short time you knew one another.

Visitation will be held at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main St. East, Ridgetown, on Wednesday April 11, 2018 from 7-9pm and Thursday April 12, from 2-4pm & 7-9pm.
