Obituary of Samuel Preston Poppe

Samuel Preston Poppe was born and passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 24, 2018. He lived for almost an hour being held and loved by his parents, Preston and Anita Poppe. Samuel’s time on earth was filled with joy, especially during the months before his birth when he had received a terminal diagnosis in utero. His parents are thankful for the time they were were able to spend together. Samuel means “God has heard”, a name chosen for a baby whose life was a sign of God’s faithfulness for his parents. 

Samuel’s parents would like to acknowledge the wonderful care provided by their team of doctors, nurses, and social workers at the Victoria Hospital in London.

Thank you to all of you who have walked alongside Preston and Anita during this time of joy and grief, and to those who have surrounded them with prayer. 

A visitation will be held at the Dresden Christian Reformed Church on Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 6-9 pm. Refreshments will be served in the church hall, please stay for a time of fellowship. For those who wish to honour Samuel’s life, donations to the Children’s Health Foundation NICU can be made at the church or the funeral home.
