HOLMES: Sylvia (nee Vincent) -
A resident of Charing Cross, Sylvia Holmes passed away at the Blenheim Community Village on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at the age of 94.
Born in Dashwood, Sylvia was the daughter of the late Albert and Cora (Desjardins) Vincent.
Beloved wife of 54 years to the late Arthur (2003).
Loving mother of Ted Holmes (Kathy) of Erieau and Gary Holmes (Susan) of Blenheim.
Proud grandmother of Meghan Urwin (Dallas), Patrick Holmes (Tara); Leeanne Pepper (Chris) and Rick Holmes (Sandra).
Great-grandmother to 9 great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by her sister Valeria Vincent.
Also missed by friends and extended family.
Sylvia was a member of the Charing Cross United Church for over 57 years. She enjoyed quilting and making turkey pies with her friends at the church. She was an avid bowler, bowling for over 60 years and finally put away her bowling shoes at the age of 92.
Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Saturday, May 26, 2018 from 10:00 am until the Funeral Service at 11:00 am with Rev. Andrew Gilliland officiating. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.
Donations made in memory of Sylvia to the Charing Cross United Church would be appreciated.
