Theo Ermers, a resident of Chatham, passed away peacefully at Riverview Gardens, on Friday, July 20, 2018 at the age of 88.
Theo was born in the Netherlands and was the son of the late John and Katja (Koenen) Ermers. He immigrated to Canada in 1952, taking up residence in the Chatham area. Theo started his employment at Libby's and retired from Navistar. His passions were traveling, gardening and his family.
Beloved husband of the late Maria Anna (Morlog) Ermers (1997).
Loving father of Anne Johnson (Gary Chinnick), Kathleen Owen (James) all of Chatham, Joan Tunks-Galbraith (Darrell) of Ridgetown, John Ermers (Bernie) of Wellend, Mario Ermers (Mary) of Sterling Heights, MI, Ed Ermers (Christy) of Ayr and Angela Pinsonneault of Chatham.
Sadly missed by 12 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Dear brother of Cor Ermers (Truus) of Blenheim, John, Piet, Willy and Sister Rosa all of Holland.
Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his grandson Scott Owen, his brothers Hank, Jacques, Garrod, his sister Riek and his son-in-laws, Paul Johnson and Eric Pinsonneault.
Friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, ON, on Thursday, July 26, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 27, 2018 at the McKinlay Funeral Home at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the Funeral Service.
Interment will be held at Maple Leaf Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Theo to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation or Riverview Gardens would be appreciated.
