Obituary of Elnora Emily Hartford
HARTFORD: Elnora Emily (nee Gifford) -
A resident of Shrewsbury, Elnora Hartford passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the age of 91.
Born in Harwich Township, Elnora was the daughter of the late Stanley and Grace (Smith) Gifford.
Beloved wife of 41 years to the late Wellington Eugene Hartford(1994).
Cherished by her children Deborah Carey (Allan), Basil Hartford (late Karrie "Dutch", 2008), John Hartford (Linda) and Ruth Pinese all of Shrewsbury.
Proud grandmother of Jeral Lumley (Craig), McKenzie Pinese, Branden Brown (Chasity), Corey Hartford (Jessica), Elizabeth Carey, Tajen Brown (Bryan), Calvin Hartford (Jodi), Emily Carey, Kayla Hartford (Kyle) and McKayla Scott (Edwin).
Great-Grandma of Genesia Lumley (Zach), Brooklyn Lumley, Noah Lumley, Micah Brown, Dryce Brown, Lennon Coll, Wellington Hartford and Edwin Scott.
Predeceased by her siblings Marjorie Payne (Burton), Mary Rumble (Earl), Kathleen Casey (Oliver), Bill Gifford and Daniel Gifford.
Also missed by many, many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Elnora and her husband Wellington farmed together in Shrewsbury where they raised their family. She was known to have two green thumbs and could often be found spending time in the garden. She was a Lifetime Member and Past Treasurer of the Shrewsbury and Raglan Assembly. Elnora enjoyed reading, crocheting, sewing and making various crafts for family and friends.
Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 22, 2018. Interment to follow at Burk Cemetery.
Donations made in memory of Elnora to the Community of Christ Church, Blenheim or Shrewsbury and Raglan Assembly would be appreciated.
