Obituary of Pamela Sue McKinlay

McKINLAY: Pamela Sue 'Pam' (nee Luckham) -

A resident of Howard Township, Pam McKinlay passed away at the Chatham-Kent Hospice with her family at her side on Sunday, August 26, 2018 in her 63rd year.

Born in Simcoe, Pam was the daughter of the late Donald and Barbara (McNicholl) Luckham.

Beloved wife of 40 years to Scott McKinlay.

Loving mother of Kerry McKinlay of Shellharbour, Australia and Nicole 'Nikki' McKinlay of Sarnia.

Dear sister to Michael Luckham (Ida) of Ridgetown, Randy Luckham (Dawn) of Dresden.

Sister-in-law of Sandy McKinlay (Wendy) of British Columbia, Rob McKinlay (Mary Margaret) of Rondeau, Ian McKinlay (Luisa) of New Jersey and Mary Bell (John 'JB') of Howard Township.

Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

Pam graduated from the University of Guelph (AGR), majoring in Microbiology and was the 27th family member to attend the University of Guelph. She worked at Gay Lea Foods in Guelph, Libby's in Chatham and the Ontario Food Technology Centre in Chatham. She taught at Ridgetown College and St. Clair Night School and worked for the offices of Gord Shaw, Dan Nichol and Ed Little for 30 years.

Pam also enjoyed reading, TV, listening to a wide range of music, Toronto Blue Jays, Professional Bull Riding, gardening, nature, travelling, curling, raising and showing pure bred dogs, entertaining family and friends and being a member of her local book club.

Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Tuesday from 7:00 - 9:00 pm and on Wednesday from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Judith Fayter officiating. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Ridgetown.

Donations made in memory of Pam to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Pam, we are better people for having had you in our lives. We have learned patience from your calmness, have drawn strength from your courage and have found true love by being in your presence. You were an incredible mother, an amazing partner and an even better friend. You were loved by many and will be truly missed.
