Obituary of Mireille Monnet
MONNET: Mireille (Mia) (nee Vittoz)
18 May 1928 - 29 November 2018
Mia passed away peacefully listening to Louis Armstrong music at The Chatham-Kent Hospice on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at the age of 90.
She was born in Renens, Switzerland, daughter of the late Marcel Octave Vittoz and Marie BerthaVittoz (Wagnières). Predeceased by her siblings John Vittoz and Nannie Vittoz.
In 1957 she left her home land, by boat, after getting married to Ernesto Monnet (1999). She worked hard in the area fields then worked as a waitress for many years and also at a gift shop. She lived most her life in Chatham and resided in Toronto for 10 years.
Loving mother of her son Alain C. Monnet of Chatham.
Sadly missed by her grandchildren Nina Monnet (friend Jay), Clint Monnet (wife Alisha), Ryan Monnet and Crissilla McKinlay (friend Lawrence).
Sadly missed by her great-grandchildren Kai, Chase, Liam, Eva and Skye.
Also missed by many friends as well as family in Italy. A Special Thank you to the whole staff at the Hospice for all they did for her.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 from 12:00 pm until the Memorial Service at 2:00pm. Cremation has taken place.
Donations made in memory of Mia to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation would be appreciated.
