Caron, Frederick Joseph "Fred"

A former resident of Grande Pointe, Fred Caron peacefully passed surrounded by his family on Saturday, December 15, 2018 in his 96th year. 

Fred was the son of the late Alphonse & Edith (nee Bell) Caron. 

Beloved husband of 63 beautiful years to the late Gloria (nee Demers) Caron (December 17, 2010). 

Loving father of Yvonne King (Norb) of Pain Court, Bern Caron (Annette) of Chatham, Norman Caron (Yvette) of Chatham, Rose King (Steve Hay) of Mitchell's Bay, Art Caron (Laura) of Grande Pointe & Janice Faubert (Norb) of Pain Court. 

Pépère of Gabe King (Leigh-Ann), Aimée Claveau (Adam), the late Paul Caron (August 5, 2018), Magdelene Polites (Chris), Adriel Caron, René Caron (Amie Brévard), Joel Caron, Alex Caron, Jennifer King (Justin Wizmer), Chris King (Paula), Shay-Lynn Donati (Mike), Jacqueline Laprise (David), Catherine Woisnet (Nicholas), Justin Faubert (Georgia Nowakowski), Stéphanie Faubert (Dan Wayne) & Cassandra Faubert (Sébastien Sadler). 

Pépère of 21 great-grandchildren. 

Predeceased by his siblings & their spouses, Bertha Couture (Ovilla), Loretta Hassen (Doug) & Rita Napper (John), Elmire Couture (Ernest). 

Always remembered by his close friend, Evelyn Couture. 

Remembered by many nieces, nephews & extended family. 

Fred farmed all his life in Dover Township, working until he was in his late 80s, and loved his red tractors. His passion was farming, always staying on top of any leading edge technology and working hard to achieve his goal of bettering his life & his family's. 

He enjoyed spending time fishing, hunting, dancing with his wife & listening to music. Fred loved his Tim Hortons and spending time with his pals at the local coffee shop. He will be  missed by his friends at the Moose Lodge. He was very well respected by everyone who knew him. 

We would like to thank Dr. Denys, Dr. Parry & the second floor east wing staff at Riverview Gardens. 

We welcome family & friends to celebrate Fred's life at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Tuesday, December 18, 2018  from 2:00 - 4:00 pm & 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Vigil Prayers will be held at 3:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday at 11:00 am at Immaculée Conception Roman Catholic Church, 24156 Winterline Road, Pain Court. Interment to follow at St. Philippe Cemetery, Grande Pointe. 

Donations in memory of Fred may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Alzheimer Society or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
