A resident of Blenheim, Jac van Boxtel passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Monday, January 28, 2019 in his 93rd year.

Born in Alem, The Netherlands, Jac was the son of the late Antonius and Martina (van der Dussen) van Boxtel.

Beloved husband of 47 years to the late Marie (de Wild) (2001).

Loving father of Tony van Boxtel (Connie) of Ingersoll, Adrian van Boxtel of Blenheim, Martin van Boxtel of Blenheim, Anita Van Lith (Gerald) of Clachan, Maria Van Lith (John) of Clachan, Herman van Boxtel (Sheila) of Kent Bridge and Theo van Boxtel (Kelly) of Lighthouse Cove.

Proud Opa and Grandpa of Diana van Boxtel (Paul), Jill Bartram (Eric), Michelle Pollard (Mike); Heather van Boxtel, Matthew van Boxtel (Lisa), Laura van Boxtel; Olivia van Boxtel; Jeff Van Lith (Caroline), Jacie Van Lith; Tim Van Lith (Leah), Adam Van Lith (Justine), Wesley Van Lith (Laura); Brodie van Boxtel, Al Lana van Boxtel, Mc Kayla van Boxtel; Alexis van Boxtel and Zachary van Boxtel.

Great-Opa and GG of Nolan Bartram, Brayden Bartram, Clara Pollard; Lochlan Van Lith, Reese Van Lith; Maizie Van Lith and Charlotte Van Lith.

Brother to the late Toon van Boxtel, the late Gonda van Lent, Nel Verhoeven, the late Fons van Boxtel, the late Cor van Boxtel, the late Marie van Beurden, Hans van Boxtel, Jan van Boxtel (Tonnie), Piet van Boxtel (Gerrie) and the late Herman van Boxtel.

Brother-in-law to the late Ben de Wild, John de Wild (late Anne), the late Nel Vandevelda, Wim de Wild, Gerrit de Wild, the late Theo de Wild, Joanne Jilissen (Theo), the late Cor van Hout and Marta Dorsten.

Dear friend to Jane van Gaalen.

Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

Jac served in Indonesia for 4 years with the Dutch army. He married Marie in 1954 before immigrating to Canada. Jac retired from Motor Wheel after over 24 years of service. He also grew tobacco in his greenhouse with his wife Marie, supplying many of the local farmers with plants.

He was a self-taught musician, having played the organ for over 50 years (St. Anne-of-the-Lakes Parish, Erieau for over 40 years and weekday Mass at St. Mary's Parish for over 20 years). He enjoyed singing, fishing and gardening in his acres of garden and orchard. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and visiting at the farm.

Jac supplied the Blenheim Food Bank with food from his garden, and helped with Meals on Wheels and the Breakfast Program at St. Anne's Catholic School. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Blenheim - Council 7744.

Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Friday, February 1, 2019 from 3:00 - 8:00 pm.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 95 Marlborough St North, Blenheim at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 2, 2019 with Fr. John Juhl as celebrant. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim.

Donations made in memory of Jac to the Children's Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
