Obituary of Donald Francis Masse

MASSE: Donald Francis -

A resident of Chatham, Don Masse passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus with family at his side on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the age of 85.

Born in Zurich, Ontario, Don was the son of the late Paul and Jane (Geromette) Masse.

Beloved husband of almost 50 years (June 2019) to Sheila (nee Regier).

Loving father of Jeff Masse (Christina) of Calgary, Jennifer Harvieux (Michael) of Georgia and Joe Masse of Chatham.

Proud Grandpa of Makayla and Andrew Masse; and Faith and Brock Harvieux.

Dear brother to John (late Liz), Norman (Terri-Lou) and brother-in-law to Monica Masse.

Predeceased by his siblings Laura Carey (Hubert), Patrick (Stella), Dennis, Ernest and Gerald Masse (Rita), Louise Parent (Leonard), Rita (Mac) and Fry (Don) Meloche and Geraldine Ducharme (Cyril).

Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

Don retired from Chrysler Canada as an Inspector after 25 years of service. He had a passion for singing and was a member of the St. Ursula and Our Lady of Victory choirs. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 from 10:00am until 12:00pm. Memories will be shared at 12:45 pm on Tuesday at St. Ursula Roman Catholic Church, 205 Tweedsmuir Ave West, Chatham. A Funeral Mass will then be celebrated at 1:00 pm with Fr. Jim Higgins celebrant. Cremation to follow with an interment to be held at a later date.

Donations made in memory of Don to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or Brentwood Recover Home would be appreciated.
