Obituary of Russel H. Bosman
BOSMAN: Russel H. -It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Russel Bosman, who passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Hospice on Thursday, March 28, 2019 in his 88th year.
He was the beloved husband of the late June (Brisseau) Bosman (December, 2018) and son of the late Robert and Aleatha (Smith) Bosman of Seacliff, Leamington.
Loving father of Susan and Steve Fujii of Chatham and Kathy Gadd and Corzell Headen of Chesterfield, MI. Step-father of David and Alicia Vannatter, Debra Vannatter and Paul Evans and Tracy and Carl Parent.
Grandfather to Tyler Zimmer (Stacy), Trent Zimmer (Ashley), Brett Fujii (Courtney) and Parker Gadd (Stephanie).
Great-grandfather to Logan and Liam Zimmer.
Step-grandfather to Stacie, Bronson, Brandon, Vanessa, Erik, Kelsey, Nate and Ellen.
Step-great-grandfather to Elaina, Ian and Isla.
Predeceased by his brother Claire Bosman (Marguerite), brother-in-law Lorne Brisseau (Marilyn), step-daughter Leslee Legue and son-in-law Daniel Newton.
Born in Mersea Township, Essex County, on June 19, 1931, he lived in London and Wallaceburg before coming to Chatham. While in Wallaceburg, he was President of the Kinsmen Club and the Kiltie Concert Band and a member of Pnyx Baldoon Lodge # 694 AF and AM and a member of the Wallaceburg Curling Club.
Since coming to Chatham, Russel became a member of St. James Presbyterian Church, where he served as an Elder, Trustee and Choir member. He was also a member of Wellington-Victory Masonic Lodge #46 AF and AM, Chatham Lodge of Perfection and the Kent Chapter of Rose Croix, Mocha Shrine and Achom Shrine Club. He was the Past President of the Chatham Builders Exchange and a long time member of the Kent Club. He retired from Hydro One after 35 years and had since assisted at McKinlay Funeral Home.
Friends and family may visit at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Sunday, March 31, 2019 from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm. A Masonic Service will be held on Sunday at 3:30 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00 am on Monday, April 1, 2019. Private family interment to follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, Leamington.
