Obituary of Simone Rabideau

Rabideau,Simone Rosalie - a lifelong resident of RR3 Blenheim, Simone passed away peacefully with family at her side on Tuesday April 2, 2019 at the age of 85. 

Born in Chatham, daughter of the late Charles and Bertha (nee Wytinck) VanNeck.

Beloved wife of the late Gordon Sevill Rabideau. 

Dear mother of Rosemary (late Patrick) Rink of Chatham, the late Michael Gordon Charles Rabideau, and  Michelle (Donald) MacLean of RR3 Blenheim.

Beloved grandmother of Jessica (Kyle) Wesley of Wallaceburg, Jeffery MacLean (Josh Borges) of Prince Edward Island, Jordan MacLean, Jenna-Lynn MacLean and Janelle MacLean; all of RR3 Blenheim. 

Sister of Irene (late Gilbert) Stroobandt of Chatham. Sister-in-law of Tony Matteis of Chatham. 

Will be missed by many nieces and nephews. 

Simone is predeceased by her granddaughter Amymarie Rink, sisters Martha Blanchaert and Brenda Matteis, and brothers Andrew Blanchaert and Leon VanNeck. 

Simone was an active and longtime member of St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church in Erieau and St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Blenheim. She served many years as a very devote Catholic with the Catholic Women's League. 

Visitation will be held at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 141 Park St., Blenheim, Ontario, on Thursday April 11, 2019 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm. Parish Prayers will be shared at 8pm. The Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church on Friday April 12, at 11am. Burial to follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim. 

Donations in memory of Simone to the Alzheimer's Society, St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, or the Daily TV Mass would be appreciated.

The family wish to extend a special thank you to Simone's nurse Kayla and her PSWs Courtney, Mattea, Colleen, Mary, Megan K, Megan T, Jacqueline and Nancy for all of the love and care you provided in keeping Simone at home.
