Campbell, Gordon "Duncan"
Duncan passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at the Chatham Kent Hospice in his 94th year.
Duncan was born on October 18, 1925 in Harwich Township and was the son of the late Warren and Jessie (Gillis) Campbell.
Beloved husband of 53 years to the late Ruth Ann (Newcombe) Campbell (2014).
Loving father of Debbie and John Pepper and Gordon and Denise Campbell all of Chatham.
Cherished grandfather of Michael, Matthew (Morgan) and Megan Pepper and Corey and Kim Knight. Great grandfather of Hudson Knight.
Dear brother of Jane Jones.
Kind brother- in- law of Helen Campbell, Carol and Gerald Galbraith and Nancy Newcombe.
Predeceased by brothers, James Campbell, Ken Campbell, and an infant sister, Isabel Campbell. Also predeceased by brother-in-laws, Leonard Jones, Doug Newcombe and sister-in-law, Donna Campbell.
Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
Duncan lived his entire life in the Campbell family home on the family farm. He remained active working on the farm until his passing.
Duncan was known as a gentleman farmer and a “gentle” man. He was a neighbour and a friend to all.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, ON, on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m.
The Funeral Service will be held at the McKinlay Funeral Home, on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 11 a.m., with Rev. D. Margaret Moriyama, officiating.
Interment will be held at Botany Cemetery, Howard Township.
