Obituary of Dorothy Blanche Beck
A resident of Chatham, Dorothy Beck passed away at Riverview Gardens on Monday July 1st, 2019 at the age of 91.
Born in Chatham, Dorothy was the daughter of the late James and Hazel (Chrysler) Beattie.
Beloved wife of 57 years to the late Harold Beck (2006).
Sadly missed by daughters, Heather (Shawn) Henderson of Blenheim, Arden Knapp of Essex, Haroldeen (Gregg) Sandercock of Ridgetown, and Sharon (Dave) Austin of Woodstock.
Loving Grandmother to Kari (Steve) Aubertin, Shane (Don) Letourneau, Greg (Holly) Henderson, Michael (Heather) Knapp, James Knapp, Scott (Julia) Sandercock, Alex (Lili) Sandercock, Barbara Austin, Isaac Austin, Emily (Adam) Love and George (Erika) Austin.
Proud Great Grandmother to Cooper & Jaxon Aubertin, Trenton Letourneau, Sawyer, Oliver & Hudson Shephard-Henderson, Emma Knapp, and Neil Love.
Survived by sister Helen (Early) Gopelle and sister in law Pat Beattie.
Predeceased by brothers William (Jeanne) Beattie, Albert Beattie, and brother in laws Tom Early and Serge Gopelle.
Predeceased in laws - Fred (Evelyn) Beck, Ella (Leslie) Praill, Freda (Jack) Simpson, Rene (Douglas) Crosbie, John (Irene) Beck, Madge (Murray) Duff, Ethel (Fraser) Clendenning, and Lloyd (Rusty) Beck.
Dorothy worked many years as a book keeper and in her spare time she enjoyed golfing, curling, shuffle boarding, bridge, and gardening. She loved vacationing to many destinations, especially the winters in Florida.
Family to receive friends on Thursday July 4 from 10:30am - 11:30am with a service to follow at 11:30am at McKinlay Funeral Home, 141 Park St. in Blenheim with Rev. Al McIntyre officiating. Interment to take place following the service at Evergreen Cemetery.
Donations made in memory of Dorothy to the Alzheimer Society of Chatham Kent would be appreciated.
