Langstaff: Muriel Alice (Willmore) -
A resident of Chatham, Muriel Langstaff passed away peacefully with family by her side at Riverview Gardens on August 11, 2019 at the age of 96.
Born in Tilbury, ON, Muriel was the daughter of the late Roy and Alice (Stebbing) Willmore.
Beloved wife of 59 years to the late Alfred Langstaff (2002).
Loving and devoted mother to David (Mary Lou) Langstaff of Morpeth, Alice (Dan) Duck (and the late Bill Deseure) of Blenheim, Grant (Arlene) Langstaff of Wallaceburg, Jean (Tony) Sommerdyk of London, and the late Nancy Langstaff (1979).
Dedicated grandmother to Mary Alice (Bob) Searles, Scott (Karen) Langstaff, Robert (Samantha) Deseure, Karen (Scot) Love, Kathy (Michael) McCracken, Kyle (Joanne) Langstaff, Chris (Nicole) Langstaff, Pam (Shawn) Slade, Ryan Langstaff (Haley Holmes), Jennifer Sommerdyk (Zivai Muvuti), Stacey Sommerdyk (Joel Quirk), Christina Sommerdyk (Graham Bird) and loving great grandmother to 20 great grandchildren and 6 step great grandchildren.
Fond sister to the late Tommy Willmore, Ted (Judy) Willmore, John Willmore, Harry (Clara) Willmore and half sister to the late Charles and Alma Willmore.
Dear Sister in law to Betty Willmore, Helen Langstaff, and Lois (Gary) Simpson.
Sister in law to the late Crawford (Leila) Langstaff, Margaret (Matthew) Humphrey, Helen (Jim) Sturdevant, Marion (Art) Slade, Lloyd (Marion) Langstaff, Elliott Langstaff, Jenner (Tom) Fisher, Arnold (Mary) Langstaff, and Lillian Langstaff.
Sadly missed by Steve Loewen, a special and close friend to the family.
A special thank you to the staff at Riverview Gardens on fourth floor west, for their exceptional care of Muriel.
Muriel was known for her amazing cooking and baking. She was a faithful and devoted Sunday School teacher. She was known by many as a facility supervisor at the Southwestern Regional Centre and was a charter member of the Morpeth Heritage Club.
Visitation will take place at McKinlay Funeral Home, 141 Park St in Blenheim on Tuesday August 13, 2019 from 2:00 pm - 4:00pm and 7:00pm - 9:00pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Glad Tidings Community Church, 403 Chatham St. S. in Blenheim on Wedenesday August 14 at 11am with Tony Sommerdyk and Michael McCracken officiating. Burial will take place following the service at Greenwood Cemetery.
