Henderson, Angela (Radoja)
Angela, a resident of Strathroy and formerly of Chatham, passed away peacefully at the Sprucedale Care Centre, Strathroy, ON, on Wednesday, August 21st, 2019, at the age of 86.
Angela was born in Montefalcione, Italy, on January 16, 1933, and was the daughter of the late Antonio and Maria (nee Baldassarre) Polcaro.
Angela immigrated to Chatham, Ontario, in 1966 with her husband Spiro Radoja (1987) and their three sons. She worked in tomato and cucumber fields, as a hairdresser, in restaurants and factories, retiring from Domtar in 1994.
Beloved wife of the late Murray Henderson (2018).
Loving mother of Milos Radoja (Christine) of Dundas, Cedomir Radoja (Catherine Leatherdale) of London, Dejan Radoja (Erin) of Peterborough, and Sonja Radoja of London.
Sadly missed by grandchildren Dale Radoja, Renee Lochner, Paul, Calvin, Dylan and Cole Radoja, and great-grandchildren Delila Radoja, Clover and Forrest Lochner, Aiden, Aria and Olivia Radoja.
Dear sister of Mario and Vincenzo Polcaro, Assunta De Vito, all of Italy, and Carmela Brogna of England.
Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews in Europe and Canada, including Marcella Severi of London, Pietro Severi of Peterborough, Sandra Severi of Winnipeg, Mara Zajdlik of Calgary and their families.
Predeceased by her brother Michele Polcaro (Italy) and her sisters Antonia Temple (England), Amalia Coppola (Switzerland) and Elena Severi (Chatham).
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 26th at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, ON, from 3:00 - 5:00 pm. Vigil prayers will be held at 4:00 pm.
Funeral Visitation on Tuesday, August 27th from 9:00 - 10:00 am at McKinlay Funeral Home. Funeral Mass following directly at 10:00 am at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 52 Croydon Street, Chatham. Interment to follow at St. Anthony Cemetery.
Donations to the Alzheimer Society or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
