Obituary of Peter Romansky

ROMANSKY: Peter -

A resident of Chatham, and formerly of R.R. # 1 Tilbury, Peter Romansky passed away at the Chatham Retirement Resort with his family at his side on Monday, October 28, 2019  at the age of 89.

Born in Tilbury East, Peter was the son of the late George  and  Anna  (Tymkiw)  Romansky. 

Beloved husband of over 50 years to the late Stella Romansky (nee Shmigel).

Loving father of Ted Romansky of Thamesville, Wally Romansky (Christine) of Chatham, Marilyn Lyons (William) of Tilbury and Lorraine Sharratt (Randy) of Oshawa. 

Poppa Pete to Jeff Romansky (Melissa), Ian Romansky, Amanda Johnstone (Ian), Jason Lyons, Sarah Lyons, Kyle Romansky, Rayna Thompson (Bobby), James Sharratt (Kayla), Aaron Sharratt and Samantha Sharratt.  Great-Poppa Pete to 8 great-grandchildren. 

Dear brother to the late Alex Romansky. 

Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. 

Peter retired early from the family farm to travel with his wife, Stella. When not travelling, he was an avid fisherman and would often be found playing cribbage, euchre and bridge at the Chatham Retirement Resort and the Merlin Legion. He also enjoyed golf, curling and hunting. His quick witted sense of humour was enjoyed by all.

Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Friday, November 1, 2019 from 2:00 - 4:00pm and 7:00 - 9:00pm. 

A Celebration of Peter's Life will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 2, 2019. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. 

Donations made in memory of Peter to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation would be appreciated.
