KOKE: Egbert (Ed)

A resident of Chatham, Ed passed away peacefully and entered into eternal glory with his Lord and Saviour, on December 4, 2019 at the age of 75.

Ed was the son of the late Albert and Jantje (nee Zonneberg) Koke.

Beloved husband of Carol (Cookie) Koke (nee Campeau) for 54 years.

Loving father of Kerri Zandberg (Al) and Shelly Dam (Jeff), both of Chatham.

Devoted Umpa of Julianne Postma (Sam), Nicholas Zandberg, Alyssa Zandberg, Tyler Dam (Michelle), Paige Bates (Jack), Braden Dam, Nathaniel Dam and Ella Dam.

Great-Umpa to Willa Dam, Baby Girl Dam arriving January 2020 and Mack and Roy Bates.

Brother of Jane Van’tVoort (Bas), Keith Koke (Marty) and Marianne Massey (the late Dennis).

Brother-in-law to Elaine "Gayle" Cassidy (late Eric), Edward Campeau (late Bud), George Campeau (late Carol), Margaret Tremblay (Gilbert) and Raymond Campeau (Brenda).

Missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Ed has been a dedicated business owner within Chatham-Kent for almost 60 years--a partner with his brother Keith, in the well known MC Business Solutions/MicroAge group of companies. He was actively involved in all of his grandchildren’s lives.

He was a member of the YMCA Foundation for over 35 years, actively involved in his church, and a faithful supporter of Chatham Christian School, Redeemer University, UCB Canada and many other charities.

He was an avid boater, and downhill skier (Fast Eddie) especially with all his grandchildren.

He leaves behind a legacy of generosity, positive thinking, integrity and loving large on all those around him. He was a loyal friend to many.

He could often be found biking around south Chatham, visiting his friends along the way.

The Koke family will be receiving friends at Grace Christian Reformed Church, 255 Tweedsmuir Ave West, Chatham on Monday, December 9 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Paul’s Congregational Church, 450 Park Ave West, Chatham at 11:00 AM on Tuesday December 10, 2019. A Private Family Interment to take place at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. A light lunch will be served at St. Paul’s Church following the Interment.

In memory of Ed, donations would be greatly appreciated to the Chatham Christian School Tuition Assistance Fund. Donations can be made through either of the three McKinlay Funeral Home Chapels in Chatham, Blenheim and Ridgetown.
