Obituary of Ernest Alexander Morden

Morden, Ernest Alexander - Ernest Morden, a resident of Muirkirk, passed away peacefully at Four Counties Hospital on Thursday January 16, 2020 at the age of 92. Ernest shared 54 years with his beloved wife, Grace (nee Luff), who predeceased him in 2016. He was a loving father to Lee (Christine) Morden of Calgary and Robert Morden of Muirkirk. Ernest is survived by his sister Isabell Warwick, brother Gerald (Carolyn) Morden, sister-in-law Hilde Morden, and brother-in-law George (Emma) Luff. He is predeceased by his parents Francis and Lillie (Gillies) Morden, his brothers Donald (Doris) and Earl, his brother-in-law Russell Warwick, sister-in-law Joy (Bruce) Osmond, and by an infant daughter Joan Marie Morden (1964). Ernest was a deacon of Calvary Pentecostal Church in Ridgetown for many years and later a faithful member of Evangel Community Church in Chatham. He spent most of his working life farming the challenging soils of Orford Township and in his later years worked on agricultural construction projects all over Southwestern Ontario. He was a man who could turn his hand to any task; he was constantly learning and developed a broad range of skills that kept the farm running and made him an asset on any project. He was always willing to lend a hand to family, friends and neighbours, and will be missed by all those who knew him. Visitation for Ernest will take place on Wednesday January 22, 2020 at McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main St. East in Ridgetown from 12:00pm - 2:00pm with a service to follow at 2:00pm with Pastor Herman Schinkel officiating.
