Obituary of Raymond James Allison

ALLISON: Raymond James - A lifelong resident of Chatham, Raymond Allison passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Chatham-Kent Hospice on Friday, January 31, 2020 at the age of 82. Born in Chatham, Raymond was the son of the late Robert and Eva (Essery) Allison. Beloved husband of 52 years to Ruthanne Allison (nee Bell). Loving father of Steven Allison of Chatham, Shelley Jennen (Marcel) of Dresden and the late Tanya Rae Allison (1979). Step-father to Michelle Stephenson (Fred) of Halifax, NS. Proud Papa of Amanda, Lindsay and Michael Jennen. Dear brother to Helen Cyr (Armand) of Ajax, Clarence Allison of Blenheim, Murray Allison (late Roseanne) of Chatham, and Ronald Allison of Chatham. Predeceased by one brother, William (Bill) Allison and sister Donna Salisbury (late Ed). Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Raymond retired from Lloyd Bag after over 37 years of service. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play hockey and taking them on walks and bike rides (particularly to the 'jungle' at Paxton Bush). He was regularly seen at the Chatham Maroons games since his childhood. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 from 2:00 - 4:00pm and 7:00 - 9:00pm. A Celebration of Raymond's Life will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00am on Wednesday, February 5, 2020. Cremation to follow with a private family interment at St. Anthony Cemetery at a later date.
