Obituary of Donna Batten

Batten: MaDonna Marie (Antaya) - A resident of Chatham, MaDonna Batten passed away at Riverview Gardens on February 1, 2020 at the age of 90. She was one of seven children born in Chatham to the late Edward and Olivia (Caron) Antaya. As a young girl she enjoyed participating in school plays and loved to dance. As a teen she enjoyed spending time with friends. A favourite place was Rondeau Park. Donna told many stories of her time as a Bell Telephone operator, a job she loved. Beloved wife of the late Elroy Batten (2001) and the late Bill Armstrong (1968). Loving mother of Craig Armstrong (Debbie), Debbie Galbraith (Wally), Lori VanVaerenbergh (Joe), Judy Bonner (Tim). Stepmother of Richard Batten (Ingrid). Predeceased by stepchildren Lynn Buxton (Batten), Gail Batten and Jim Batten. Loved and dearly missed by her many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grand child, nieces and nephews. Dear sister of Anna Mae Pardo (Doug) and Bob Antaya (Jane). Predeceased by her siblings Loretta Lachine, Nora Dauphin, Leonard Antaya and Bernard Antaya. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Riverview Gardens for the professional and loving care of their mother these past ten years. "You are Earth Angels". Visitation will take place on Friday February 7, 2020 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm at McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main St. E. with a Funeral Service to follow at 1:00pm with Jacob Rowe officiating.
