Obituary of Frances Foster
Frances Foster passed away with her family by her side on Thursday, February 6, 2020, at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance at the age of 86. The Bokor family immigrated from Slovakia to Manitoba where Frances was born, ultimately settling in Shrewsbury, Ontario. Daughter of the late Michael (1975) and Veronika Bokor (1979) (nee Bokor) and daughter-in-law of Herman Foster (1995) & Marie Foster (1995).
Frances married the love of her life, Charlie, in 1956 and celebrated almost 42 years of marriage until his death in 1998. Together they raised 8 beautiful children. Dan (Shelley) of London, Larry (Danielle) of Windsor, Michael (Ellen) of St. Catherines, Chris (Marlene) of Chatham, Julie of London, Lisa Walker (Mike) of Chatham, Mary Catherine Bishop (Dave) of London, and Steve (Karen) of London. She was the proud Grandmother of Sheldon (Nicole), Andrew (Rebekah), Laura (Bill), Jordan, Michelle (Mike), Jared (Laurian), Jeremy (Brooke), Jenna (Andrew), Megan, Mackenzie (Brooks), Nick (Nicole), Emily, Mathew, Craig, Thomas and Blake. Great-Grandmother of 12; McKayla, Noah, Isiah, Sophia, Ethan, Luciano, Hannah, Ellie, Carter, Cohen, Jude and Charley on the way. She is survived by her sister Irene McCarron, (Mike), and sisters-in-law Lillian Bokor & Gail Bokor, Patricia Spears and brother-in-law, Richard (Gay) Foster. Predeceased by her siblings; Mary, Rose, Frank, Cecilia, Michael, Annie, James, Veronica, John & Emilia. Also missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Frances began her career as a parish secretary at Our Lady Help of Christian Church in Wallaceburg, St. Agnes Church in Chatham, and St. Pius X in London where she retired.
Family will receive friends at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, on Thursday, February 13, 2020 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Agnes Church on Friday, February 14, 2020 at 11:00 am with luncheon to follow. Interment at Riverview Cemetery in Wallaceburg.
