Obituary of Janet Arnold

ARNOLD: Janet Elaine (nee Houston) - A resident of Merlin, and formerly of King's Corners, Janet Arnold passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus with family at her side on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at the age of 80. Born in Chatham, Janet was the daughter of the late Kingsley Houston and the late Helen (nee Butcher) (late Lorne Hughson). Beloved wife of 60 years to Ronald Arnold. Loving mother Cary Jamieson (Dave) of Chatham, Kimberley Jones (Dave) of Merlin, Terry Haskell (Bill) of Merlin, Ronda Arnold (Fred Van Bemmel) of Blenheim, Glenda "Nana" Arnold of Merlin and Julie Ogilvie (Richie) of Merlin. Proud Grandma to Melissa, Jason (Ashley), Jeffery (Candice), Adam (Elicia), Eric (Holly); Tabitha, Ciara; Tyler (Susanne), Quentin; Derek, Brodie, Lisa, Jeff, Greg; Darrien, Khara, Richard, Rlando, Ryker, Reyne and River. Old Grandma to Pagan, Aidan, Zoe, Noah, Abigail, Owen, Jack, Hannah, Sophie, Leeah, Alexis, Mia, Jackson and Aubree. Dear sister to Marilyn Shaw (late Hilton) and the late Elda Irwin (late Howard). Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Janet served in the Royal Canadian Air Force for three years before marrying her childhood friend Ronald. She enjoyed making crafts, crocheting afghans and would be often seen selling her wares at local craft shows. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. A Celebration of Janet's Life will be held at the Funeral Home at 1:30pm on Thursday, February 20, 2020. Interment to follow at Arnold Cemetery.
