Obituary of Tom Maynard

MAYNARD: Thomas George "Tom"- A lifelong resident of Chatham, Tom Maynard passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus with family at his side on Monday, March 16, 2020 at the age of 81. Born in Chatham, Tom was the son of the late George and Margaret (Springer) Maynard. Beloved husband of Beverly Maynard (nee Baxter) and the late Joan Maynard (nee Oulds) (2007). Loving father of Tom Maynard (Sandy) of Merlin and Tammy Owen (John) of Chatham. Dear grandfather to Tyler Maynard, Laura Nichol (Dan), Matt Babcock (Lauren) and Bailee Middel (Cam). Great-grandfather to Dean Nichol; Eden Babcock, Wilder Babcock, the late Emmett Babcock; Nora Middel and Finn Middel. Remembered by Beverly's children Lisa Camilo (Aldo) and Pamela Sayers (Mark). Brother to Jerry Maynard (Connie) and Florence Morrell (Leslie). Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Tom retired from Chatham Hydro after 35 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a local taxidermist for over 50 years. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 642 Chatham and a former member of the Kent Regiment and the Essex and Kent Scottish Regiment. A Private Family Service will be held. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. Donations made in memory of Tom to the Canadian Diabetes Association or War Amps would be appreciated.
