Obituary of Douglas Morse

MORSE: Douglas Richard - A resident of London, Douglas Morse passed away at home on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at the age of 89. Born in Chatham, Douglas was the son of the late Claude and Edna (Sherman) Morse. Dear brother to Marilyn Lester (William) of Chatham and the late Robert Morse (2002). Uncle to Brad Lester (Rodah), Brenda Bathurst (William), Brian Lester and the late Bob Lester. Also missed by friends and extended family. Great-uncle to Peter, Emmanuel, Elijah and Namulinda Lester, Kelly and Brian Bathurst, Brandon Lester, and Jade Lester. Doug was the great-great uncle to seven nieces and nephews. Doug studied at Queen's University and Westervelt College. He worked for a few years with his father and brother at Claude Morse Motors before joining Standard Life Insurance in London eventually moving on to the Standard Life office in Montreal where he worked for the majority of his career. After retiring in 1990 he settled in London. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and close friends that he'd known for many years. Doug was an icon in the family and served as a role model to his niece and nephews and their children. Cremation to take place with a Private Memorial Service to be held at noon on the 21st of May. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. Donations made in memory of Douglas to the MS Society, the Salvation Army or Rural Action International would be appreciated.
