Obituary of John G. Campbell

Campbell: John G.- Of Chatham Kent passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, May 18, 2020. John was the son of the late John and Viola (Countryman) Campbell. He was born in Chatham-Kent 86 years ago. Beloved husband to Laverna for 66 years. Loving father to his children Robert (Helen) Campbell of Blenheim, Gordon (Shirl) Campbell of Chatham, Sherri (Peter) Burke of Blenheim, Jo (Robert) Oke of Chatham and Lisa (Lawrence) Jasper of Chatham. He had 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren two step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. Survived by his sisters Helen Coyle (Gordon) and Maxine Paxton (Don). Brother in-law to Gayle Campbell (Jim Brodie) and Joanne Campbell. Predeceased by his siblings Leo Campbell (Eunice), Marion Hutchison (Douglas), Gladys Lawrence (James), Lyle Campbell (Doris), Murray Campbell and Allan Campbell. Also missed by his in-laws Raymond (Pat) Smolders of Chatham, Linda (Ken predeceased) Williston of Dutton, Rick (Cindy) Smolders of Blenheim, Ron (Sue) Smolders of Thamesville, Henry (Penny) Smolders of Blenheim and many nieces, nephews, and friends. John farmed his entire life in Harwich Township and was a volunteer Firefighter for the North Harwich Fire Department. He volunteered at Riverview Gardens and played Santa Clause for many functions.
