GIBSON: Barry Percy -

A resident of Thamesville and formerly of Ridgetown, Barry Gibson passed away at Four Counties Health Services, Newbury on Thursday, July 9, 2020 in his 81st year.

Born in Wingham, Barry was the son of the late Percy and Velma (Kerr) Gibson.

Beloved husband of 53 years to Verna (nee Ellis).

Father to Brett of Thamesville and Darren (Maxine) of High River, Alberta.

Gramps to Amanda, Courtney, (J.P. Sivard) and Nick (Abby Williams).

Great-Gram to Callie, Allison; Josh, Jayce, Jett, Jaxson; and Grace.

Predeceased by his brother Doug Gibson (late Faye).

Brother-in-law to the late Milton Ellis (Marilyn).

Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

Barry worked with CNR for several years and later owned and operated Ridgetown Bowling Lanes for 21 years.

Barry was also Superintendent at the 82 Delaware Apartment Building for 10 years until his retirement to Thamesville.

He was an avid ballplayer, bowler (lawn and alley) and golfer and was an active member of Life Bridge Church, Thamesville and Evangel Community Church in Chatham.

A Celebration of Barry's Life will be held at Evangel Community Church, 76 Sandys Street, Chatham at 2:00pm on Thursday, July 16, 2020. The Bereavement Authority of Ontario has mandated that all those attending the funeral service must wear a mask.
