A resident of Chatham, Milton Bailey passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance - Chatham on July 30, 2020 at the age of 96.
Born in Detroit, he was the son of the late Harold and Grace (nee Lee) Bailey.
Beloved husband of 46 years to the late Jean (nee Johnston).
Dearly missed by his children, Rebecca (Ric) Rossini, Jack (Beverley) Bailey, Gregory Bailey, David Bailey and the late Beth Bailey.
Grandpa to Kellie Higgins (Ki), Ryan Bailey (Bonnie), Angie Nichols (Wayne), Natalie Bailey, Andrew Bailey, Karen Bailey, Rachel Bailey, Samantha Bailey and Wyatt Bailey.
Great-grandpa to Regan, Trevor, Tristan, Haiden, Lashiah & Judah.
Predeceased by his siblings, Amber Hall, and Margaret Lachine.
Missed by his nieces and their spouses, friends and neighbours.
Milton farmed all his life in Raleigh Township. He achieved his Pilot's license at the age of 54. He was an avid wood worker & wood carver - most family members have a memento of his creations. Milton enjoyed traveling and until recently, spent many winters in Florida. He enjoyed spending time in his garden and cooking a meal with his food from his garden. Milton was an avid reader of all literature, especially poetry, and could recite any poem off by heart. He was very well known for telling many stories and the history of the Bailey family. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Family and friends to be received on Saturday, August 8, 2020 between 10:00am and 11:30am at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St. in Chatham, with the funeral service following at 11:30am. An internment to follow the service at Maple Leaf Cemetery for all those wanting to attend.

No one will be permitted at the visitation without a scheduled time. The Bereavement Authority of Ontario has mandated that everyone attending must wear a mask. With Covid-19 restrictions you likely will be seated in an overflow seat.
Cremation has taken place with a burial to follow in Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.
