SULLIVAN: Josephine (nee Vandevenne)
Passed away peacefully at Riverview Gardens in Chatham on Friday August 7, 2020 at the age of 97 years.
Josephine was born in Moore Township, Ontario, daughter of the late Desire and Romaine (Vanthournoudt) Vandevenne.
Beloved wife of the late Joseph Sullivan (2004).
Cherished mother of Helen Schepanowski (Charles) of Chatham, Anne Sullivan-Lusk of London, Virginia (Al Magrath) of London, Leo (Mary Jo) of Komoka, Michael of Sarnia, John of Chatham, Larry (Charleen) of Mt. Brydges, Angela (Doug MacLachlan) of Toronto, Rick (Gloria) of Acton, Pat (Mary) of London, Linda of Toronto, and Joe (Janyce) of Lambeth.
Predeceased by her siblings Rose Van Damme (Jerome), Gerard (Mary), Marie Vandenbogaerde, Romain (Helen) of Wilkesport, Jerome, Albert and Joe Vandervenne.
Beloved grandmother of Tony and Robert Schepanowski, Brendan and Patrick Lusk, Matthew Sullivan, Thomas and Lindsay Sullivan, Julie, Laura, and Joseph Sullivan, David and Lisa Sullivan, Shannon and Byron Sullivan, Jennifer and Roxanne Sullivan, Connor and Jodie Sullivan, Rebecca and Scott Sullivan. She was also beloved great-grandma, aunt and friend.
Josephine was a very proud member Maple City Centre for Older Adults for over 30 years, Catholic Women's League and went on missions through Blessed Sacrament. She was involved with lots of community work in Chatham, including St. Vincent Du Paul and Meals On Wheels, among others.
Family will receive friends at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 145 Victoria Avenue Chatham, on Wednesday August 12, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at the Dresden Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, family and friends are asked to sign up at the following link https://signup.com/go/SOQhSNM or call the funeral home at 519-351-2040. The Bereavement Authority of Ontario dictates that all those attending visitations and funerals wear a mask while attending.
Donations made by to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Blessed Sacrament Memorial Fund in memory of Josephine would be appreciated.
