Obituary of Monica Jean Goodburn
Monica “Moose” Goodburn passed away peacefully at home, with family by her side on Monday, August 18, 2020.
She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years Brian, her children Paula (Jeff), Cliff (Annie), Jim (MJ) and Kenny (Patty), 16 grandchildren and 7 great- grandchildren. She will be sorely missed by her best friend and sister, Amanda Myers (Demars), her brothers Dennis Demars & Pat Brennan, sisters Donna Timson (Bill), and Percy Grobe, and step-brother Len Lozon (Micky).
Moose is predeceased by her best friend Sheeba (Sheila McDonough), her brother-in-law Don Myers Sr., nephew Joseph Myers, step-brother Leo Lozon, her mother Kathleen St. Pierre and father Bernard Demars.
Affectionately known as Moose by her family and friends, she lived 1000 years in the 72 calendar years we had with her, because she attacked life; she grabbed it by the lapels, kissed it, and swung it back onto the dance floor. She liked four letter words as much as she loved her flower gardens and the multitude of pets and strays she took in over the years.
Whether you knew her from Keleher’s Western Wear or Short Stop in Cambridge, Moose was known for her larger than life personality, and was a force to be reckoned with. When not working, you could often find her under the hood of a vehicle or working on a craft project for someone she cared about.
Many family reunions were photographed of her with a cigarette in one hand, jug of Texas Tea in the other, while two-stepping in the dirt to her favourite country music tunes.
Moose’s larger than life personality and trademark stubbornness will not be forgotten. She was “Hard as nails, and twice as rusty!”
Family encourages visitors to dress “loud & proud”, for Moose wouldn’t want it any other way!
