Plaquet, Roger Alphonse

A resident of Chatham, Roger Alphonse Plaquet passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 22, 2020 with his family by his side at the Chatham-Kent Hospice. 

Born on May 26, 1937, he was the son of the late Albert & Margaret (nee Janssens) Plaquet. 

He will be remembered always by his wife of 63 beautiful years, Louise (nee D'Hulster), children Janine Gordon (Sonny), Brian Plaquet (Dawn-Marie), Denise Plaquet (Ken Bovin) and Wayne Plaquet (Christine). 

Dear grandpa & pepe of Brandon Martin (Tamara), Ashley Broadwood (Brandyn), Michael Plaquet, Rachael Plaquet, Nicholas Plaquet and Cadence Plaquet. 

Great-grandpa of Grayson Broadwood, William Martin and Finley Broadwood.

Brother of Francine Vynckier (Robert) and Anita Bourassa (John). 

Missed by many nieces, nephews, friends, neighbours and extended family. 

Roger retired from Meritor (formerly Rockwell International) after over 30 years of Service at the age of 56. 
Roger was an avid collector of antiques and artifacts over his lifetime. To facilitate his collection, he traveled extensively throughout North America. Roger and Louise traveled through Ontario, Michigan and Pennsylvania to attend Polka Dances and made many friends over the years. He was a member of many organizations associated with his collectables. 

The family would like to extend their sincerest appreciation to the staff of the Chatham-Kent Hospice for their devoted care and compassion for Roger.

Family to receive friends on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham. A Funeral Service to take place on Thursday at 11:00 am at the Funeral Home. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, those hoping to attend the Visitation and Funeral Service must schedule a time online at  https://signup.com/go/qQKqBzQ or phone us at 519-351-2040. No one will be permitted at the Visitation and Funeral Service without a scheduled time. The Bereavement Authority of Ontario has mandated that everyone attending must wear a mask. With Covid-19 restrictions you likely will be seated in an overflow seat.

Burial to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.
