Ponniah: Canagam Gilgal (Masilamoney)
A former resident of Sri Lanka and more recently of Morpeth Ontario, Canagam Ponniah peacefully passed away with her family at her side at the Blenheim Community Village on September 21, 2020 at the age of 100.
Canagam will be remembered for her devotion to nursing in Sri Lanka and then after retirement immigrated to Canada, lived in Ottawa for many years.
Born in Colombo, Sri Lanka, Canagam was the beloved wife to the late Walter Ponniah Sr. (1986).
Loving mother to Sarojini (Ernest) Edward, Walter (Deanna) Ponniah, Esther (Dr. Ranjith) Chandrasena, and Naomi (Charles) Manickam.
Grandmother to Rebecca (Jody), Sanjeeve (Suma), Rukshini (Ben), Rushika, Dr. Samantha (Ramone), Roshan, Sanjay (Amy), Manesh (Reena).
Great grandmother to Anika, Kason, Adelyn, and Charlotte.
A private family service will take place at McKinlay Funeral Home with cremation to follow.
