Meyerink, Helene (nee Emery)
It's with heavy hearts on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, Helene Meyerink of Chatham passed away at the age of 80 years old after fighting a ten year battle with cancer.
Helene was the daughter of the late Arthur & Delina (nee Barrette) Emery.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Don of 62 years of marriage; her children, Dan Meyerink (Janice Bechard-Meyerink), the late Gerard Meyerink (2019), Katherine Meyerink, Larry Meyerink (Jan), Suzanne Hoekstra (Harry), and Robert Meyerink (Colette).
She will also be missed by 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by her brother, Gerard Emery, her sister, Leona Poitier (the late Roland) and brother-in-law, James (Jim) Meyerink (the late Betty).
Survived by her sister-in-law, Lucille Emery and brother-in-law, Peter Meyerink.
Missed by many nieces, nephews & extended family.
Helene enjoyed a plentiful life of boating on Georgian Bay, fishing, horseback riding and baking. She was most famous for her butter tarts.
As mom would say... "I've finished life's chores assigned to me. I am getting on the Miramichi boat and I have my fishing pole for I have been invited to the fishing hole. Where every day I can fish to fill my heart with every wish. From where I sit now watching the loons pass by, just know that I am smiling from somewhere up high. Don't be sad for me as I have gained my wings to fly to the Lord to new beginnings."

A Private Family Liturgy to take place with Interment in Immaculee Catholic Cemetery, Pain Court
