Ruediger, Guenther
A resident of Chatham, Guenther Ruediger, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance at the age of 89.
Born in Germany, he was the son of the late Willy & Emma (nee Domscheit) Ruediger.
He is reunited with his late wife of 54 years, Eileen Ruediger (nee Notwell, 2015).
Cherished father to Darlene & Brian Verschraegen of Chatham, Harold & Susan Ruediger of Windsor.
Grandfather to Brittany Morton (Tom), Aaron Verschraegen (Shannon), Charlene Ruediger, and Nathan Ruediger.
Great-grandfather to Carter, Abbie, Scarlet, Dawson & Carissa.
Brother to one sister & step-sister.
Forever missed by many nieces, nephews and extended family in Canada & Germany.
Guenther retired from Navistar after over 30 years of Service as a Mechanic. He loved his garden, his pool and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Guenther was a long time member of the YMCA. Eileen and Guenther traveled to many places over the years. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 from 3:00 - 5:00 pm & 7:00 - 9:00 pm. A Funeral Service is to take place on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 11:00 am at the Funeral Home. Those hoping to attend the Visitation and/or Service are required to register online at https://signup.com/go/fQZMuDS or phone the Funeral Home at 519 351 2040. The Bereavement Authority of Ontario have mandated that all attendees wear a mask.
Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.
