Devereux: Peter James -
A resident of Ridgetown, Peter Devereux passed away peacefully with family by his side at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on January 6, 2021 at the age of 70.
Born in Chatham, Peter was the son of the late Glen and Margaret (nee Doyle) Devereux.
Loving father to Meagan Devereux (Jeff), and Nicole (Darren) Beuckelare.
Best friend and partner to Donna Galbraith.
He will be forever Papa Pete to the many grandchildren in his life.
Brother to Paul (Karen) Devereux, Jean (late Jim) Newman, Mary Devereux, Bridget Devereux, and predeceased by John Devereux.
Peter will be remembered as an honorary member of Donna's family as well as being a wonderful uncle, friend, and mentor to many.
Peter was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 243 for 46 years, Freemason, and a lifelong business owner of Devereux Drainage.
A private family visitation will take place at the funeral home on Monday January 11, 2021 followed by a livestreamed service at 1:00pm with Rev. Al McIntryre officiating. A private interment will take place at Botany Cemetery following the service.
Donations made in memory of Peter to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 243 would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
