Obituary of Christine Campbell

CAMPBELL: Christine Ann (nee Burrows) -

September 27, 1947 - January 5, 2021

On the night of Tuesday, January 5th, 2021, our beloved Christine Ann Campbell passed away at Chatham-Kent Hospice where they cared for her like she was their own.

First born to Ronald and Winnifred Burrows (Clarke), Christine was the eldest of four kids. She was Big Sis to a brother and two sisters, an Auntie, Great-Auntie, Mom, Grandma (Mumma) and a Great-Grandma. As she was many things to many people, she had a very full life.

In her early years she signed up for dance and baton and became so good at it and loved it so much that she eventually opened up her own studio to teach both to all ages. Thus, "The Shooting Stars Majorette and Drum Corp." was born and was her life during those years. There were many parades, competitions and many trophies to show for it.

She was also a very creative person. She had made all the costumes for the Corp and the twirlers throughout the years, sequins and all.

Christine loved making Halloween costumes and knitted everything from sweaters to baby clothes and blankets to stuffed animals.

A great lover of the Christmas season, she loved her decorations and large gatherings with lots of food and gifts.

A very giving person, she regularly donated to so many organizations that help the needy.

Children were her life. This could be seen from her time teaching, with the day care and as a Mom, Grandma  and Great-Grandma to an army of kids. She did everything whole heartedly. She was always very thorough and believed if something was worth doing, it was worth doing properly the first time. She had a tough life but was a very strong woman which even surprised her at times.

She made her big move to Chatham in September 2020 to start to enjoy a quieter life but God had other plans for her and so she had to leave us behind.

Our hearts are broken, but we take comfort in knowing that you are no longer in pain and are dancing through the gardens of Heaven like nobody's watching. Until we meet again, Christine.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Special thanks to the staff and volunteers at the Chatham-Kent Hospice for their care and compassion.
