Obituary of Irene Chinnick
CHINNICK: Irene Grace (nee Campbell) -
A resident of Chatham, and formerly of Dover Township, Irene Chinnick passed away at St. Andrew's Residence on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at the age of 91.
Born in Ridgetown, Irene was the daughter of the late Gordon (Ruth) Campbell and the late Katherine Campbell (nee Towsley).
Beloved wife of 63 years to the late Bev Chinnick (2013)
Loving mother to Bonnie Glasman (Miles) of Russell, MB, Danny Chinnick (Brenda) of Chatham, Laurie Chinnick of Kitchener and her adopted daughter and special friend Donna Schilkie.
Proud grandmother to Craig (Rachelle) Chinnick, Grant Chinnick, Jared Glasman (Chelsey), Cori Chinnick (Andy), Matthew (Leanne) Glasman.
Great-grandmother to Sarayah, McCoy, Aleah and Harlan Glasman.
Sister to Margaret Friedrich (Harvey) and Betty Campbell.
Sister-in-law to Margaret Campbell, Jane Jenner and Delbert Chinnick.
Predeceased by her siblings Archie (Kay) Campbell, Dorothy (Jerry) Bowering, Roy Campbell, Bruce (Janet) Campbell and infant brother Stanley.
Predeceased by her in-laws Dorothy (Harry) Blackburn, Robert Jenner and Marg Chinnick.
Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Irene started her career as a hairdresser before meeting Bev and moving to the farm in Dover. There she raised her family and helped on the farm and became the family hairdresser and seamstress. Irene and Bev could often be found dancing or at the bowling alley, and in their later years they took to camping at Mitchell's Bay and then Clearville Park.
Special thanks to the staff at St. Andrew's Residence for their care and friendship over the years.
