Obituary of Wendy Martin

MARTIN, Wendy Nellie...

Wendy, the oldest child, was born October 5, 1950 and peacefully passed away on March 20, 2021 at Chatham-Kent Hospital.

Predeceased by her parents Wallace "Wally" (2008) and Margaret (nee French) (1980) Martin, and sister Lynn Vince (2012).

Survived by sister Annette Martin. Loving sister in law to Ron Vince.

Loving Aunt to David Marchand, Jonathan Marchand, Jeff Vince, Sheldon Vince, Rebecca Vince and Ashley Bellehumeur.

Loving Great Aunt to Kaitlynn Vince-Janssens, Alex Vince, Kacey Vince and Denver Bellehumeur.

She will be missed by many cousins and friends she met through Community Living Chatham-Kent.

Part of Wendy’s Legacy is a trusting, loving, kind, caring person and always gave to others. Wendy’s Legacy of Giving has continued as she was able to graciously and unselfishly donate her corneas. She always had kind words for everyone she met. Wendy was our Social Butterfly.

A special thank you to: Stacey Gauthier and Barbara Hill whom Wendy considered as her extended family, as well as the many other fantastic, caring and loving support workers of Community Living Chatham-Kent whom are referred to as Guardian Angels of some of the most vulnerable. To the very caring Medical Staff, Management and Support Workers of Copper Terrace LTC whom all kept Wendy and the residents safe and healthy before and during Covid-19.

A very special thank you to everyone at The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, the Screeners, Ward Clerks, Internists, Surgeon, Nurses, Respiratory Techs, Lab Techs, Registration, Housekeeping and Dietary Staff, Emergency Room Staff, and the Management Staff whom provided consent for additional visitors during these extremely difficult Covid times and provided support to Wendy’s family. Our Wendy was treated with the utmost compassion and respect. Each and every staff member were not only passionate about their work but also very compassionate to the Patient and Family. Words cannot completely express our gratitude to the entire CKHA Staff, Management and the Paramedics. We also appreciate the kindness and patience from the Nurses of London Trillium Gift of Life. Our thanks to McKinlay Funeral Home as well for their compassion for Wendy and our family.

Cremation and a private family visiting has taken place. Interment in Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.

In lieu of flowers we respectfully ask you to consider donating to Community Living Chatham-Kent, Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation or consider giving the gift of life through organ and/or blood donation.
