Obituary of Wanda Gibson
GIBSON: Wanda Elaine (Travis)
Wanda was born on July 30, 1931 to Edward and Frances P. Travis (Banks). Wanda made her transition peacefully on Friday, March 26, 2021 at Eden Villa Residence in Chatham at the age of 89. Wanda is predeceased by her loving husband Charles Gibson (1989).
Wanda will be sadly missed by her daughter Gayle Gray (Lem), granddaughters Kymberley Johnson, Krysten Lynch and Kelley Gray-Allen (Antwon). She was blessed to have 8 great-grandchildren, Jayda, Jaylyn, Jasmyne, Tyler, Sierra, Madison, Kennedy and Carter.
Wanda will be also missed by two sisters, Wilhemine Cameron and Joyce Miller (Bolton) and one brother Wayne Travis (Virginnia). She is predeceased by brothers Edward Jr. (1923), Wellington Travis (2004) and Lyle Travis (1994) and one sister Corinne Prince (2014) and longtime companion Gerald Ladd (2017). Wanda has two god-children Debbie Travis and Sandra Highgate and a host of family and friends.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 from 11:00 am until the Funeral Service at 1:00 pm. Those attending are required to register online at (https://signup.com/go/DPYpaQP) or by phoning the funeral home at 519-351-2040. The Bereavement Authority of Ontario have mandated that all attendees wear a mask. The Funeral will be live-streamed on at https://vimeo.com/529779713. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.
