Obituary of Katie Congo

Congo: Kathleen Marie (nee McColl) –

A resident of Highgate, Katie passed away at Chatham-Kent Hospice on May 4, 2021 at the age of 72.

Born in Chatham, Katie was the daughter of the late John and Susie McColl (nee Parney) of Rodney.

Beloved wife of 51 years to Donald Congo.

Loving mother to Karen Congo Farmer of Cypress, Texas, and Allan James Congo, and his wife Jill, of London, Ontario.

Doting Grandma to Austin Farmer.

Dear sister to Neil McColl (Shirley) and Donald McColl (Nancy) all of Rodney. Predeceased by brothers Edward and Malcolm, and sister Barbara Jean. Sister-in-law to Kate Eberle (Wayne) of Highgate. Dear Aunt and Great-Aunt to several nieces and nephews.

Katie will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, hospitality, sense of humor, and as “the capable wife” referenced at Proverbs 31:10-29. 
She was an active and devoted member of the Rodney Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Katie was known and will be remembered by many from her dedicated years of service as a school bus driver in Ridgetown.

Katie’s funeral service will take place on Saturday May 8, 2021 at 1:00pm via Zoom, and all are welcome to join. The link for the funeral service is: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81726266875 .  A private family burial will take place at Duart Cemetery later that day.
