Obituary of Cookie Koke

KOKE: Carol (Cookie) Emily (nee Campeau) -

A resident of Chatham, Cookie Koke passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus and went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at the age of 78.

Born and raised in Tecumseh, Cookie was the daughter of the late Alec Campeau and the late Shirley Montbleau (late Roland) (nee Wilson).

Beloved wife of 54 years to the late Ed (2019).

Loving and cherished mother of Kerri Zandberg (Allan) and Shelly Dam (Jeff), both of Chatham.

Proud Grandma to Julianne Postma (Sam), Nicholas Zandberg, Alyssa Zandberg, Tyler Dam (Michelle), Paige Bates (Jack), Braden Dam, Nathaniel Dam and Ella Dam.

Fun-loving GG to Willa and Oaklyn Dam, Mack and Roy Bates. Cookie was eagerly anticipating the arrival of two additional great-grandchildren in 2021.

Dear sister to Elaine "Gayle" Cassidy (late Eric), Edward Campeau (late Bud), George Campeau (late Carol), Margaret Tremblay (Gilbert) and Raymond Campeau (Brenda).

Sister-in-law to Jane Van’tVoort (Bas), the late Keith Koke (late Marty) and Marianne Massey (late Dennis).

Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

Cookie graduated from St. Joseph's School of Nursing in 1963, and practiced as a Registered Nurse there for 33 years, retiring as a supervisor. She loved working as a nurse and was appreciated by the many people she interacted with.

Cookie will be remembered for her laughter and wry sense of humour. In her earlier years, she enjoyed golfing, boating, skiing, curling, walking with friends and the many trips she and Ed took together. Later in life, she enjoyed the time she spent with her family.

Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 from 6:00 - 9:00pm and on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 from 10:00am until 12:00pm. Those planning to attend are required to register on the Funeral Home website or by phoning the Funeral Home.

The Bereavement Authority of Ontario have mandated that all attendees wear a mask. A Private Family Service will follow with an interment to be held at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.
