SAWYER: Ila Marie (nee McCorkindale) -
A resident of Chatham, Ila Sawyer passed away at the Riverview Gardens, Chatham with family at her side on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at the age of 92.
Born in Sarnia, Ila was the daughter of the late Jack and Ila (Melton) McCorkindale.
Loving mother of Douglas Sawyer (Marie) of Calgary, AB and David Sawyer (Bernice) of Chatham. Step-mother to the late Marilyn McLean (late Paul).
Proud Grandma to Dwayne Sawyer (Shelley) of Ottawa, Paul Sawyer (Tanis) of Calgary, Jennifer Gibbs (Chris) of Calgary, Christopher Sawyer (Kathy) of Chatham, Paula Hicks (Matt) of Sarnia and Michele Smeets (Jamie) of Bright's Grove.
Great-Grandma to Paige Sawyer, Torin Sawyer, Alyssa Gibbs, Kaitlyn Gibbs, Megan Sawyer, Dylan Sawyer and Kaylee Sawyer. Dear sister to Norris McCorkindale.

Predeceased by sisters Kay, Isabelle, Marlene, June, Laura, Patricia and brothers John, Allan, Lorne, Christopher, Michael and Archie.
Also survived by several nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Ila retired as a Dietician from St. Joseph's Hospital after many years of service.
Special thanks to her 'extended family' at Riverview Gardens for their care and compassion over the years.
A Private Family Service will be held.
